Gold Standard is a series that explores racism in our society. Depicting how we can collectively build bridges towards peace and unity. 

 

In a community brimming with a rich mix of culture, which houses over fifty languages, it is human nature to desire familiarity; however, by building bridges we can become gold. We need to unite instead of burning in a melting pot. 

 

Mediums: The pieces in this collection have been created on recycled Khadi paper, treated with gold acrylic paint and coffee. The linear, hand-drawn illustrations are executed with black and gold ink. With her unique brushstroke technique, Eliyah echoes a spray-painting effect; aligning her work with the commentary nature of graffiti art.
