Gold Standard is a series that explores racism in our society. Depicting how we can collectively build bridges towards peace and unity.
In a community brimming with a rich mix of culture, which houses over fifty languages, it is human nature to desire familiarity; however, by building bridges we can become gold. We need to unite instead of burning in a melting pot.
Mediums: The pieces in this collection have been created on recycled Khadi paper, treated with gold acrylic pain and coffee. The linear, hand drawn illustrations are executed with black and gold ink. With her unique brush stroke technique, Eliyah echoes a spray-painting effect; aligning her work with the commentary nature of graffiti art.
